To make it in to the ASX200 you have be pretty good at communicating. You've got partner channels, tradeshows and events, multi-modal campaigns, and a team of sales people out there hunting down and engaging new opportunities everyday. But one area that's often overlooked is creating internal communication for your own staff.
This was an issue Data#3 Limited was facing (as their headcount had grown from 400 to 2200+) and one I helped them solve.
Working in close collaboration with Tash Wick, Chief People Officer, and the wider HR Team at D3, I pitched a quarterly video update series that we'd produce on-site at their Brisbane HQ. This would be a recent news and announcement type piece averaging 5-8 minutes in length and would be distributed to all Data#3 locations and staff digitally via SharePoint (Stream), email, and Microsoft Teams. Creating Internal Communication for ASX200.

Each episode of the series would include high level messaging or announcements not about the businness or quarterly performance... but about new staff initiatives, upcoming opportunities, recognition for activities or performance, or community and charitable engagement (Data#3's SOUL program).
Each episode would also feature guest presenters from around the business - either in person or via remote connection or pre-recorded segment - to help bring a unified message to the multi-national organisation.
Once scripting was produced by the HR team, i'd review it and plan/organise sequences of b-roll material to be filmed in-and-around the Brisbane office. The aim was to produce this series to the same exceptional standard we'd produce external or customer content - complete with custom assets, animations, and b-roll sequences.
This extra asset creation had the added benefit expanding Data#3s internal asset library with hundreds of extra clips or stills of office activities that could be utilised across internal communications or promotions, proving that people really were at the heart of the business.
When it came to content distribution, SharePoint really did make it simple. I created a repository location for all internal video communications the company would publish and had the permissions modified to allow broad organisational-only access.
This meant links to the video annoncements could be publised and play in the browser, in emails, or even in Microsoft Teams chats and messages. We enabled sharing and reactions and turned on and tailored timestamps and chapters for easy navigation or repeat viewing. This feature was broadly appreciated and often proved to be an interesting, insightful, and unexpected tool for gathering user feedback.

I've now produced over 8 episodes in this quarterly series, always to exceptional stakeholder reviews from the HR team at Data#3 and the wider business itself. It truely is a credit to both Tash Wick and her team for identifying the need for better internal communications in the business, leaning in to the idea, then supporting and investing in this series' ongoing production #TeamD3
